There is no question that the way we communicate personally and in business has changed drastically in the last decade. You might have read one of AGMA’s many blogs that covers multi-generational workforces and the communication challenges that it brings to manufacturing, including our beloved gear industry. Associations have been tasked with the steep responsibility of providing up-to-date content and information to all members on all platforms. AGMA takes this job very seriously and is always looking for the best way to get valuable information to membership.

Long gone are the days where mailing a brochure and sending an email is enough to send out information about upcoming events, education courses, and membership benefits. Engagement no longer must be face-to-face; instead, members from around the world can have discussions electronically on many platforms including social media. AGMA is dedicated to making sure members at all levels in their career have access to the right information they need to grow. So much so that AGMA has grown its communications strategy to provide webinars, an online learning management system, interactive website forums for technical committees, videos, a blog, newsletters, and much more.

Time is one of the most valuable commodities we have. The gear industry has faced a lot of changes in recent years with technological advancements, government policy shifts, employment challenges, and more. Staying on top of the latest information is time-consuming. AGMA knows this. Providing multiple ways members can access information is the key to keeping the promise of AGMA to help deliver leads, educate the industry, supply business intelligence, advance technology, and create business connections.

Many members have a preferred method of communication. This doesn’t mean AGMA won’t encourage you to participate in the other ways we disseminate important information. In fact, if you haven’t checked out our YouTube channel, you might be surprised at all the people in your industry who have contributed — not to mention, Matthew Croson’s epic cornhole tournament video!

Don’t have time for videos? Join the more than 300 million people on Twitter who are sharing the latest technology and news on manufacturing. Meet up with AGMA on LinkedIn where many of your gear peers are sharing photos of projects and great information about what their companies are doing. You might also find a potential employee on there.

AGMA only succeeds if members succeed. Let us do the heavy lifting of sorting through the mayhem that is facing manufacturing to provide you with the tools and information you need to make your company grow. Sign up for our industry newsletter, visit our education learning management system, follow us on social media and get in the know! If nothing else, start off by visiting www.agma.org.
