Index Technologies, established in 1999 as a provider of gear tool sharpening services, announced its acquisition by Burton Industries, a Tier 2 automotive supplier headquartered in Mentor, Ohio.

Burton Industries is renowned for its expertise in CNC machining and holds certifications in IATF 16949:2016 & AS9100.
“The timing of working with Burton couldn’t have been better,” said Greg Allen, founder of Index Technologies. “We have been in a significant growth mode for the last four years and have invested heavily in CNC sharpening machines. We were running out of efficient operational space. Moving into Burton’s existing facility has tripled our floor space, allowing us to set up our machines with ample room for future growth. Index Technologies remaining in Northeast Ohio allows us to continue supporting our local customers in the manner they have become accustomed to, and the resources Burton Industries brings will enable us to continue on the growth path we have been on.”
“We are passionately committed to assisting our manufacturing customers in their outsourcing manufacturing challenges, as evidenced by our equipment and automation investments totaling over 15 million dollars just in the past few years,” said Chris Burton, CEO of Burton Industries. “This recent acquisition was as much about increasing experienced talent as it was about increasing capabilities.”
Greg Allen will remain as a consultant to Index Technologies, and Greg Allen Company will continue to represent Index Technologies in the U.S. market. Index Technologies will be participating in the AGMA Motion & Power Expo in Detroit October 21–23 at Booth 473.
