Winsmith, manufacturer of custom, highly-engineered gearing solutions, has launched a new line of helical inline and helical bevel gearboxes.
Winsmith helical inline gearbox (HXI) and Winsmith helical bevel gearbox (HXB) feature a modular design with single-piece housing units. These gearboxes are built to order and can be assembled with various accessory options. Winsmith can ship this stocked inventory from its Asheville, North Carolina, gearing facility within one to three days.

“Our Winsmith helical inline gearbox is designed with full modularity and includes a NEMA C flange to optimize installation space while enhancing performance,” said Crad Winkelvoss, Winsmith vice president/general manager. “These modular, compact helical gearboxes contain efficient drive systems designed for a variety of applications.”
Available gearbox accessories include mounting feet, output flanges, and reaction (torque) arms.
Winsmith high-efficiency, right-angle gearing benefits include:
- Precision ground and hardened gears providing optimal durability and efficiency for a long operating life, low noise, and minimal energy losses.
- Single-piece aluminum housing design, which provides corrosion protection and helps eliminate the risk of leaks. A secondary finish is not required but these units can accommodate paint for aesthetic purposes.
- Precision machining guarantees the proper alignment of bearings and gears for optimal operation and reliability.
- Features a removable inspection cover that facilitates regular gear inspections during maintenance for optimal performance over time.
