United Grinding North America, a subsidiary of Swiss-based United Grinding Group, recently appointed Alonso Acevedo to the managing director position for its Mexico territory. The move further positions United Grinding, a global leader in precision CNC grinding, as an unparalleled provider of support and expertise throughout North America.

Acevedo brings a wealth of experience to the role, including 27 years of experience in the machine tool industry, 12 years of experience on the end-user side, and 15 years of experience in various sales roles. He is heavily focused on finding ideal solutions for customers while providing premium service that they cannot find anywhere else.

“I am excited to be joining the United Grinding North America team as the new managing director of United Grinding Mexico,” Acevedo said. “Based on my 27 years in the machine tool industry, I know the machines in the United Grinding portfolio are some of the highest quality and most precise grinding equipment in the world. It’s an honor to be managing the Mexican operation of this powerful product line. Mexico is a growing market, and there is a lot of opportunity, particularly in the grinding business, and I look forward to delivering world-class machines and service to our customers in Mexico.”

Acevedo’s arrival coincides with the signing of Intermaq, a CNC machine dealer based in Zapopan, just outside of Guadalajara. Mexico, is a strong machining market with tremendous promise to grow, and United Grinding intends to have a major supportive presence there for the long term.

“We are excited to welcome Alonso to the team,” said Markus Stolmar, president and CEO of United Grinding North America. “He brings a wealth of knowledge around precision manufacturing and has strong relationships with many existing customers. I look forward to the further development of our Mexican market as this is a very important and strategic market for United Grinding North America.”

“We are working hard on developing the Mexican market, and bringing Alonso on board is another important step toward maximizing the potential in Mexico,” Stolmar said. “Along with our new dealer partner, Intermaq, and our existing sales and service teams, we are in a great position to make big strides in 2024 and beyond.”
