United Gear & Assembly Increases Nitriding Capacity with New Furnace

Fairfield Manufacturing Company, Inc., announces the appointment of Gary J. Lehman To meet increased volume requirements, United Gear & Assembly (UGA) has purchased an additional nitriding pit furnace. The new 6,000-lb. capacity furnace is due to be operational in the first quarter of 2004. It will complement the existing wide range of heat-treating services that UGA provides to its OEM customers and the Minneapolis-St. Paul commercial heat-treating market. UGA provides carburizing, nitriding, and induction heat-treating services along with complete metallurgic lab services and inspection. UGA is one of only a few companies that is QS 9000 certified for high-volume heat treating services in the upper Midwest.

UGA manufactures high-quality gears, shafts, and assemblies with ISO 9002/QS 9000 certification. The company provides a vertically integrated supply source, including engineering, machining, heat treating, assembly, and quality assurance.
