Trenton Forging Company, the first forging company to achieve QS-9000 in early 1996, has finalized re-certification to the new industry standard ISO/TS 16949:2002. Trenton Forging makes product for a wide variety of industries including automotive, truck, construction, mining, and others. TS 16949 certification is a technical specification that aligns existing automotive quality systems standards within the global automotive industry.

Trenton also announces the installation of several major pieces of new equipment. The purchase and installation brings more of the latest technology to Trenton Forging. Each has engineering and design features that benefit the forging operation by providing the latest in programmable and tolerance controls. Installed equipment includes:

  • Four new 1,000 ton hydraulic coining presses for close tolerance coining.
  • High Production Magnetic Particle Inspection System for automated crack detection.
  • Additional CNC Die room equipment to supplement its work horse 18,000 rpm High Speed machining centers for tooling production, including a 13,000 rpm machining center, 10,000 rpm machining center, and wire EDM.
These additions allow Trenton to be "first to market" with the capability of making new tooling in as little as one day, and PPAP samples in less than one week.
