Paulo Adds Surface Treatment Capabilities

Paulo Products Company announces the addition of two surface treatments at its St. Louis, Missouri, facility. Paulo-St. Louis now has the capability to perform gas nitriding. Gas nitriding is carried out in a sealed retort with an ammonia atmosphere at temperatures at or near 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Typical cycle times range from 24 hours to 72 hours. Paulo-St. Louis can accommodate parts up to 48 inches in length. In addition, Paulo-St. Louis has added the capability to perform a corrosion resistant ferritic nitrocarburizing process on carbon and alloy steels. This new process incorporates an oxidizing stage that enhances corrosion resistance as well as improving appearance and overall performance. Paulo-St. Louis continues to offer Nitro-Wear, a patented ferritic nitrocarburizing process performed in a fluid bed.
