Marking its continued business growth and positive community influence, Logan County Ohio’s West Ohio Tool has been named as one of the “Best Places to Work in Ohio 2023” by Ohio Business Magazine. The firm was also featured by the Logan County Chamber of Commerce as its “Business of the Month” for April.

The family-owned and 100 percent woman-owned manufacturer of custom-designed carbide, polycrystalline diamond (PCD), and cubic boron nitride (CBN) tooling was among 67 Ohio businesses noted in the magazine’s eighth annual poll of employee-friendly enterprises, earning the honor for companies with less than 50 employees. Businesses were selected based on commitment to employees, benefit packages, and community involvement. In addition to fostering team building and bonding for its employees, West Ohio Tool maintains deep roots in its community, supporting several local organizations including Second Harvest Food Bank and donating 10 meals to Feeding America for every new part number manufactured.

The company also recently received accreditation from the Better Business Bureau for its demonstrated efforts and commitment to honest, ethical business practices.

These latest distinctions follow closely on a significant record of recently acquired professional accreditations and accomplishments. In addition to expanding its geographical reach and customer markets, West Ohio Tool became a certified Women-Owned Business (WBE) for the state of Ohio and received the prestigious Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certification that will open doors to local and federal contracting opportunities, this in addition to a pending federal Women-owned Small Business (WOSB) certification.

The local, state, and federal certifications expand West Ohio Tool’s opportunities to obtain contracts for goods and services, construction, engineering, IT, professional services, and other sectors. The programs also provide access to favorable capital financing for ongoing growth opportunities.

Since its inception in 1989, West Ohio Tool has grown from a regional custom tool maker to a national tool manufacturer and service provider for a variety of industrial sectors. In 2022, the company had sales in 28 states, and based on first-quarter 2023 figures, it is on track to have the best year in its 33-year history, company officials say.
