Fairlane Products, a leading North American manufacturer and supplier of clamps, fixturing accessories, machine tool components, and rollers and bumpers, introduces a full line of thrust screws that allow straight line static load thrust without transmitting torsional or radial force onto the contact area.
Fairlane Products thrust screws are used in place of traditional setscrews for clamping, holding, retaining, and pushing and are ideal for contoured or irregular surfaces. They hold secure and provide for a “forgiving” force without marring, scarring, or damaging the workpiece.

The company’s line of thrust screws is available both threaded-setscrew type and headed-socket head cap screw type. As the screw is threaded against a surface, the free-floating ball design allows the thread to continue to rotate while the ball remains stationary against the surface. The two styles of screws are available in several “thrust end” types — flat cone stainless, flat, and round Delrin®, urethane surface, serrated high speed tool steel, and diamond surface.
With their unique design, the thrust screws have a larger contact surface area than traditional setscrews and all components of the design are replaceable.
They are available in lengths from 1/2 to 3 inches, in both fine and coarse styles with thread sizes from 1/4-20 to 1-14 and contact diameters from 9/64 to 49/64 inches.
In addition to thrust screws, Fairlane Products also designs and manufactures myriad roller types and bumpers, accessories for the ball lock pins, a wide range of workholding and positioning components, replaceable grippers, rest pads, and Swivots® — modular component workholding for holding and positioning of irregular contour surfaces, handle and levers, knobs and grips, equipment handles, hand wheels and cranks, hinges and latches, leveling supports, stops and wheels, fixture clamps, clamping locating systems, work positioning elements, vises, grippers, and mechanical linear actuators.
