Fixtureworks®, a leading North American manufacturer and supplier of clamps, fixturing accessories, machine tool components, and rollers and bumpers, now offers a modular 5-axis pull clamping system.

Compact in size and completely modular, this versatile pull clamp system allows easy height adjustment by coupling the modules. It is designed to eliminate tool interference during workpiece machining. The pins or screws can be attached to the underside of a plate or a workpiece for a standardized locating base on the position of the clamps.

Locating repeatability is 5 microns. Styles include flanged type, single, and double type, as well as hook type. Together with the special bushings, pins, and clamping screws, this modular pull clamping system is designed to save space and increase efficiency in a variety of clamping applications.

Flanged module clamps are used to locate and clamp a workpiece in conjunction with clamping screws. Activating the clamp pulls the clamping screw downward and secures it in position. This system includes two flat washers. The body is made from steel, precision ground, with a black oxide finish. The clamping nut and locking screw are made from steel, quenched and tempered, with a black oxide finish.

Similarly single module clamps are also used to locate and clamp a workpiece in conjunction with clamping screws. Secured to the base plate using a socket head cap screw used with a locating bushing precise locating. The body, clamping nut and locking screw are all made from induction hardened steel, precision ground, with a black oxide finish.

Like the flanged and single module, the double module clamp configuration is also used to locate and clamp a workpiece in conjunction with clamping screws. Activating the clamp pulls the clamping screw downward and secures it in position. It is secured to the base plate using a clamping screw or tapered clamping screw for precise locating. The body, clamping nut, and locking screw are all made from steel, precision ground, with a black oxide finish.

The hook clamping system is designed for use on horizontal machining centers. These hook-type clamping modules are used with corresponding clamping screws to provide safe and easy loading and unloading of heavy workpieces or fixture plates. The clamp modules enable the user to suspend and support the workpiece or plate before clamping. Right-side or left-side tightening modules are available. Tapered bushings provide for precise locating. The body and locking screw are made from steel, with a black oxide finish.

The 5-axis modular clamping system also includes clamping pins, clamping screws, riser screws, and bushings.

In addition to 5-axis modular clamps, Fixtureworks offers quick release fasteners, quick action sliding locks, spring plunger clamps, handle and levers, knobs and grips, equipment handles, hand wheels and cranks, hinges and latches, leveling supports, industrial rubber bumpers, stops and wheels, fixture clamps, clamping locating systems, work positioning elements, vises, grippers, and mechanical linear actuators.
