Reis Robotics Revises RH Series

The RH series was completely revised by REIS with regard to the successful use as removal, insertion, and spray robot in the casting foundry. The series comprises two robot types with six axes up to a load capacity of 130 kg, as well as two robot types with four basic axes for load capacities up to 300 kg. The basic units with four axes can be equipped with an additional fifth casting axis and are mainly used as casting robots for gravity die casting.

The six-axes horizontal articulated arm robots of the series RH are particularly outstanding due to a high load capacity and a high positioning accuracy at high speeds. Due to the horizontal arrangement of the arm, results are of an ideal movement sequence for extraction, insertion, and spray tasks at the die casting machine. Extremely space-saving installation is possible. For instance, the RH 130 has a floor space of 1.43 m² with a work envelope of 23,8 m². This robot type offers a lot of advantages, especially in narrow work envelopes with automation at die casting machines due to the horizontal articulated arm kinematics. Also, the peripheral equipment can be arranged compactly around the robot with little space requirement. The robot is arranged laterally of the mold parting plane, in general on the rear side of the die casting machine. This ensures that the mold has free accessibility and that soiling of the unit is reduced.

The horizontal axes are equipped with an anti-collision protection so that damage of the robot during programming and operation is prevented (e.g., if the robot has a collision when placing down the part). This function is an additional safety in case of failure of a sensor in the trim tools or in the processing stations. The mechanics of the RH series were especially designed for the foundry. All bearings and mobile parts are separately sealed and encapsulated, and therefore suitable for the use in extreme environmental conditions. Thus, the customer receives a reliable device with high availability and long service life. The achievable high economic efficiency and productivity of this robot once again prove the fact that automation pays off.  Based on exclusive technology and functionality, Reis Robotics offers the user a single source that supplies the complete system for economic production at an attractive price.

Reis Robotics designs and delivers complete automation systems from one source. The company’s success since 1957 is based on the great experience gained during planning and execution of turnkey automation systems. For this, Reis Robotics offers a broad product range of industrial robots—welding robots, casting robots, handling robots, laser robots, and many others—peripheral modules, and services for automation solutions in all major application fields.
