Philadelphia Gear Corporation, a full-service provider of gearing and power transmission solutions, announces the promotion of Richard Chrzanowski to the position of general manager of the company’s Eastern Region Service Center, which is located in New Castle, Delaware. He will oversee the implementation of Philadelphia Gear’s aftermarket suite of services for its customer base, extending from Maine to North Carolina. Chrzanowski joined the company in 1996 as an operations manager for the bevel gear division. He was quickly promoted to director of customer and field service out of the Norristown, Pennsylvania office, where he helped lead an internal effort to increase customer response times in relation to quote development, contracts and pricing, and on-time delivery.

"So much of the success of our regional maintenance and repair service is based on our ability to quickly identify and respond to the needs of our customers in the field," says Carl Rapp, president and CEO of Philadelphia Gear. "As customer service director, Rich showed the ability to work with customers to meet their repair needs. I’m confident his success in our Norristown office will translate to his new role as general manager for our Eastern Service Center."

Chrzanowski’s promotion is the latest step in Philadelphia Gear’s regional service center staffing reorganization, shifting to a more customer-oriented service focus. "The goal of this reorganization is to put in place a more operations-oriented team that will work more closely with our customer base," says Rapp.

Prior to joining Philadelphia Gear, Chrzanowski spent 10 years with the Crane Company, where he held numerous positions in engineering and product management. A 1985 graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Chrzanowski resides in Warrington, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Sue, and their two daughters.

A founding member of the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA), Philadelphia Gear offers products and services found in use worldwide; from conveyor gear drives used in long wall coal mining operations, to emergency repair services critical to the power generation industries.
