Bodycote Thermal Processing, Inc., has installed a new batch atmosphere furnace line at its facility in Highland Heights, Ohio. The surface combustion integral quench furnaces have working dimensions of 36" x 48" x 36" and can accommodate load sizes of up to 5,000 pounds. The line also incorporates a state-of-the-art endothermic gas generator. The new equipment will be used to increase the plant’s capacity. Processes including carburizing, carbonitriding and ferritic nitrocarburizing will support key markets including off-highway, agriculture, and automotive.

Bodycote’s Highland Heights operations specializes in combining its vacuum heat-treating capabilities with its nitriding service. The ability to control both in one process allows customers to maintain dimensional stability and the required final metallurgical properties. This unique combination is also required for alloy steel that requires quench and nitride. The plant offers blast cleaning, straightening, and full metallurgical laboratory support.
