Barit International Corporation announces a change in ownership and executive management, and welcomes Yuriy Ardashnikov as the new chief engineer. The 20 year-old gear cutting tool provider has been purchased by Dennis Moldavsky—Barit’s former director of sales, who will now serve as CEO—and Chicago businessman Edward Moldavsky, who will be the new president. The Moldavsky’s assumed their new roles in May 2009 and maintain their offices at the company’s headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois.
Barit International Corporation has built a strong reputation for quality and service since its founding in 1989 by Alexander Polevoy, and it is that reputation and commitment to its customers that motivated Dennis Moldavsky’s interest in acquiring the company. “When Rita (Polevoy) mentioned she was thinking about retiring and wanted to find a buyer for the company, I knew this was a great opportunity for my family to grow and improve an already successful family-owned business,” says Dennis Moldavsky.
The first steps in the Moldavsky’s plans for growing the company included the addition of Yuriy Ardashnikov to the Barit leadership team. Ardashnikov has 22 years of industry experience ranging from designing geared power transmissions and mechanical drives to manufacturing support and quality control management. His areas of expertise include diesel engines, machine tools and custom gearing. He assumed his role as chief engineer in September of 2009.
