Space is filling up for the Third Wave Systems (TWS) International Users Conference at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis. During the conference, TWS offers workshops, breakout sessions, and industry presentations to bring solutions for improving machining processes. The conference is open to users and non-users to learn how AdvantEdge and Production Module are being applied across various markets by its users.
Speakers include Brian Rohm, lead manufacturing engineer at GE Aviation, and Jeff Tessier, senior manufacturing engineer at DePuy Synthes. Plus, Tom Childs, professor at University of Leeds, will present on simulating Ti6Al4V chip formation over a wide range of cutting speeds and experiments.
John Marshall, director of engineering at PCC Aerospace, will present on relevant applications of Production Module within Industry 4.0.
Rob Ivester, deputy director at the U.S. Department of Energy, will present on energy and manufacturing in America.
Frank Pfefferkorn, associate professor, and Sinan Kesriklioglu, Ph.D. student at University of Wisconsin-Madison, will present on tool-chip interface temperature measurement with thermocouple fabricated directly on the rake face.
Jarred Heigel, mechanical engineer at NIST, will present on hybrid manufacturing.
TWS Users Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to watch the drivers practicing for the Indy 500 during the offsite networking reception on May 17 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Attendees can get up-close by watching from the pit area and go behind-the-scenes in the garage where the cars are serviced and stored.
