High-performance lubricant manufacturer Royal Purple, of Porter, Texas, has developed the new Thermax® Semi-Fluid Greaseãan ultra-tough, aluminum complex, EP grease designed to lubricate industrial gear boxes that require the use of semi-fluid grease. It has the fluidity to pour like oil from the container while having enough "body" at operating temperature to resist channeling or leaking past faulty seals often found in older gear boxes.

Thermax® also has very good oxidation stability and provides excellent rust and corrosion protection to both ferrous and nonferrous metals. It is formulated with Royal Purple’s proprietary EP Synslide Æ additive technology, which forms a chemical film capable of carrying loads much greater than other EP oils and greases under boundary conditions.

Royal Purple’s Synslide® gives its EP lubricants their performance advantages, offering maximum protection under boundary lubrication conditions typically caused by heavily loaded, slow speed and/or shock-load conditions. This tough, proprietary, slippery film significantly improves lubrication and reduces wear by increasing both film thickness and oil film toughness, thus reducing metal to metal contact. Synslide® is non-corrosive, displaces water from metal surfaces, and excels in protecting equipment in wet environments. It also fortifies the oil against the detrimental effects of heat, which causes oil to oxidize. Thermax® is available in 35-pound pails, 120-pound kegs, and 400-pound drums.

Royal Purple produces synthetic products for a wide variety of industrial and automotive needs including commercial engine oils, food-grade lubricants, industrial gear lubricants greases, and hydraulic lubricants.
