In October, A2LA labs accredited Penta Gear Metrology ISO17025 for technical competence in the field of calibration. Penta Gear President Marvin Nicholson said the company is excited to be able to offer these services for its North American customers.

Ohio-based Penta Gear Metrology provides gear measurement and inspection including contract inspection, metrology services, metrology services contract inspection, and metrology services gauge certification. ISO/IEC 17025 general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories is the main ISO standard used by testing and calibration laboratories. In most major countries, ISO/IEC 17025 is the standard for which most labs must hold accreditation in order to be deemed technically competent. Technical requirements include factors that determine the correctness and reliability of the tests and calibrations performed in laboratory.
