Fixtureworks®, a leading North American manufacturer and supplier of clamps, fixturing accessories, machine tool components, and rollers and bumpers, now offers 5-axis modular hook-type pull clamping systems. They are made from premium alloy steels, hardened for wear, given a black oxide finish and precision ground for accuracy. This hook-type clamping system provides optimum downward forces to securely hold workpieces to fixture bases for safe, rigid, and consistent machining, fabrication, and assembly operations.

The hook clamp designs maintain a low profile to minimize obstructions and interference with tool paths and processing access, thus helping to eliminate multiple setups and secondary operations. These clamps can be mounted directly to a fixture base adapted to accept the clamp base or attached to the fixture using a clamp holder.

Designed for use on horizontal machining centers, the hook-type pull clamping modules provide safe and easy loading and unloading of heavy workpieces or fixture plates with simple and single setup with quick clamping. Hook-shaped clamping screws mount onto hook modules, enabling you to position and hang workpieces before clamping, and providing quick and safe workpiece setup in vertical workholding for 5-axis machining with no tool interference.

Fixtureworks offers several types of hook clamping systems from a standard clamping system to ones with a tapered hook type for clamping and locating. They are available in thread sizes from M8 x 1.25 to M16 x 2.00 with diameters that range from 12 to 24 mm and length on the threaded portion from 25 to 51 mm with overall length from 37 to 73 mm.

With the tapered “screws,” the modular system can be used for both clamping and locating a fixture plate or workpiece. The tapered bushing is made from 1045 steel, precision ground, with a black oxide finish. The clamping screw is made from 4135 steel, quenched and tempered, with a black oxide finish. The O-ring is made from nitrile rubber. Compact in size and completely modular, this versatile hook clamp system can be used in a variety of applications.

Also available are hook type modules with steel body and black oxide finish with diameters from 46-93 mm with clamping force from 1,800 to 5,600 lb.

In addition to these hook-type pull clamping systems, Fixtureworks offers pneumatic flex clamping locators, nutrunner clamps, quick change pneumatic clamping fasteners, quick action sliding locks, spring plunger clamps, handle and levers, knobs and grips, equipment handles, hand wheels and cranks, hinges and latches, leveling supports, industrial rubber bumpers, stops and wheels, fixture clamps, clamping locating systems, work positioning elements, vises, grippers, and mechanical linear actuators.
