As an alternative to gear grinding operation, Affolter introduces the µ-Skiving to the AF100 or AF110plus gear hobbing machine. The machines offer high precision positioning of the pre-cut blanks with special laser, skive-hobbing with profile optimized and coated hub-cutter, and machining of hardened materials of up to 60-65HRC.
The Affolter Gear AF100plus is a CNC gear hobbing center with 12-axes control. The AF100 is equipped with the company’s advanced current technology Leste 12 axes CNC control and is designed to hob helical and spur pinions, splines, straight bevel gears, and crown face gear wheels by either generative or single index cutting methods.
