Our precision gear production includes spur, helical, and worm. We produce spline shafts, racks, timing belt pulleys and sprockets. The Company was established in 1920 by Joseph J. Kloka and Alfred Underwood, with the last syllable of their last names comprising the Ka-Wood company name. The Company was founded in Detroit, MI and was originally located in a two car garage. In 1941 the company moved into a 3,300 sq. ft. building in Detroit, MI. In 1981, Joseph J. Kloka III, took ownership of the company and moved the business to Madison Heights, MI into a 9,000 sq. ft. building. In 1994, due to continued increased business, the company again moved into a larger manufacturing plant; we currently occupy a 23,000 sq. ft. state of the art manufacturing facility in Madison Heights, MI.
Due to our commitment of producing quality products and servicing our customers’ needs, we became ISO 9002 certified on May 3, 2000; we currently are ISO 9001:2008 certified. With the experience we have gained since 1920, we are confident that we can handle most of your gear and spline requirements.
