Walter Announces New Channel Development Team

As part of an overall restructuring of its sales organization, Walter USA, LLC has announced the creation of a Channel Development Team. The team will be led by Bob Trent and will be comprised of four specialists focused on the various sales channels in which Walter goes to market. The team will also include four applications specialists that will support Walter’s channel partners and overall sales force.

In addition to Trent, the new team will be comprised of Tom Benjamin, Ken Baertson, James Henning, and Matthew Humphreys, all current members of the Walter organization.

In his position as channel development manager, Trent will oversee the entire business development efforts and report to Jeffrey Kraez, national sales director. Trent joined Walter through the merger with Valenite in 2010 and has been a key account sales manager. During his years with Valenite, he held a variety of positions within the sales force, including field sales engineer, sales manager on the GM account as well as sales manager for automotive and distribution.

Benjamin has over 22 years of cutting tool sales and marketing experience. He was most recently manager of product management with Walter USA.

Baerston started his career with Valenite in 1977 and has held a variety of positions with both Valenite and Walter including customer service, field service sales and sales management.During his 25 years in the metalworking industry, Henning has held many positions including design engineer, project engineer and sales management. Most recently he was a district manager for Walter.

Humphreys joined Walter in 2008 as a field sales engineer responsible for Titex and Prototyp sales in Michigan. He started his career in 1998 and has held various roles in metalworking such as application specialist, sales engineer and product management.

With a product range of around 49,000 catalogue tools for milling, drilling, turning and threading, Walter is a complete service provider for the metalworking industry.
