The Dayton Business Journal named Slone Gear as their choice for Rookie Business of the Year at their annual 2013 awards program.

The prestigious black-tie gala honors companies and business leaders across the Miami Valley who have outperformed their competition. Slone Gear edged out the other two finalists within their category and was named the top startup business in Dayton that has been operating for less than 3 years.

Slone Gear has achieved substantial growth in 2013, adding jobs to the community, and is partnering with Mound Laser & Photonics Center to combine their efforts of advancement of laser machining and welding technology with gear and spline measurement. “We have several projects in the works to leverage the technologies in both companies to improve the measurement and surface life of gears and splines in high-load, high friction, and heavy-wear environments.” said Brian Slone, vice president of Operations.

Slone Gear International is a member of the American Gear Manufactures Association and develops, distributes, and represents best-in-class gear-related micro measurement solutions including spline gages and master gears, double flank roll testing software and machines and contract measurement services. They are partnered with technology management company, Maric Management, Inc., which invests in entrepreneurs and strives to focus the vision, develop the leader, and monitor performance.
