Hyundai WIA introduces the new L800A Big Bore Heavy Duty CNC Turning Center. With a 12.5” thru hole capacity, the L800A is designed for machining large cylindrical parts. A dual chuck design offers support of the work piece, especially on long shafts or pipe. Standard capacities include: a 41.3” swing over the bed; a 32.3” swing over the carriage; a maximum turning diameter of 36.2”; a maximum turning length of 65” and a 12.58” spindle bar capacity.
The 45-degree slant bed with hardened and ground box ways is designed using finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure powerful cutting and agility and is composed of Meehanite cast iron to minimize deformation when performing heavy-duty cuts. At a weight of nearly 4,000 pounds, the rigid bed is designed to absorb vibration for stable machining.
The Big Bore spindle bore of 12.58” (320 mm) in diameter optimizes cutting efficiency. The Big Bore spindle offers users high material removal rates, highest accuracy and excellent rigidity. It guarantees stability when run at high spindle speeds for high rpm precision machining. P4 class roller bearings and angular bearings secure excellent stability when heavy duty cutting. Ground bearing assembly parts in the spindle and headstock maintain consistent high accuracy. In order to avoid the release of pre-pressure of the spindle bearing due to high-speed accel/decel, heavy-duty cutting and movement of the chuck cylinder and tension of the belt pulley, a double locking system separates the spindle bearing from the pulley. The L800A Big Bore has a programmable built-in tailstock to maintain accuracy and tailstock control.
