Helios Gear Products recently announced the latest technology improvement to its Tecnomacchine (“TM”) series of gear deburring and chamfering equipment.
Helios now offers the TM 1000 platform with full CNC, which allows manufacturers a higher level of repeatability, programmability, and ease-of-use, said Adam Gimpert, president of Helios. “The TM 1000-CNC represents the next step in the evolution of our deburring platforms. Gear manufacturers need this CNC technology to alleviate costly deburring labor, increase repeatability, and lower the barrier-to-entry for new operators and setup personnel,” Gimpert said.
The TM 1000-CNC offers deburring / chamfering of parts up to 1,000 mm (39.37 in) diameter with a maximum face width of 1,000 mm (39.37 in). An optical sensor locates each workpiece for optimal deburring before the fully enclosed machine uses eight CNC axes for programmable positioning (axial, radial, tangential, and inclination) of two tool spindles (top and bottom operations). The TM 1000 platform uses tool spindles with speeds up to 30,000 rpm for efficient deburring. The machine also offers an optional pre-deburring station for removing rough burrs before final deburring.
Gear manufacturers of gears up to 1-meter diameter can benefit from this new CNC configuration. The TM 1000-CNC allows consistent, repeatable deburring and chamfering quality, and the machine enables shops to recapture costly manual deburring time: after a short setup and one-time CNC programming, the machine deburrs top and bottom unattended with reliable quality.
