Stan Blenke of Schafer Gear Works Named to Association Board

Stan Blenke, executive vice president of Schafer Gear Works—and a manager of the newly formed South Bend Gear, a joint venture between Schafer Gear Works and Somaschini, S.p.A. of Italy—has been named to the Michiana Chapter National Tooling and Machining Association (MCNTMA) Board of Directors. An advocate of education and training in the tooling and machining industry, he will serve a one-year term on the local board.

Based in Washington, D.C., the National Tooling and Machining Association helps members of the U.S. precision custom manufacturing industry achieve profitable growth and business success in a global economy through advocacy, advice, education, networking, information, programs, and services.

Established in 1934, Schafer Gear Works has been under its present ownership since 1988. The gear manufacturer is a diversified supplier to a variety of markets in North America including leisure vehicles, material handling, mining, power transmission, construction, locomotive, aircraft, and medical, as well as automotive and heavy-duty truck markets.
