A new Finishing Technologies Pavilion & Conference debuting at FABTECH 2010 Nov. 2-4 in Atlanta allows manufacturing executives to review finishing equipment, processes, services, and gain valuable technical insight. Sponsored by the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI), the pavilion will feature exhibitors displaying a wide-variety of finishing technologies including liquid finishing, powder coating, electrocoating, pretreatment, curing, and plating. CCAI also will produce conference programming focusing on numerous finishing applications.

“As with the addition of each of the partners to the FABTECH group, the CCAI brings a technology—organic, as well as inorganic finishing—that is wholly synergistic to the focus of FABTECH,” according to Mark Hoper, FABTECH show co-manager (see Q&A in this issue). “Ultimately, it is our goal to create an event that establishes a one stop shop for the metal forming, fabricating, tube and pipe, welding, and finishing industries. The addition of the Finishing Pavilion was a very logical next step in completing the manufacturing process.”

The pavilion will include liquid and powder application equipment and booths, coating materials, system integrators, pretreatment chemicals, dry-off and curing ovens, conveyors, testing equipment, and other ancillary products. CCAI’s technical conference content will offer everything from the basics of industrial finishing technologies to advanced processes, emerging technologies and case studies from end users. More than 48 hours of finishing-related programming will be offered. CCAI’s conference program offers the most comprehensive finishing educational opportunities at any trade show this year.

“Due to consolidation within manufacturing plants, an engineer is often responsible for multiple areas of the plant, such as both fabrication and finishing,” says Bruce Bryan, recent past president of CCAI. “Previously, that engineer would have to visit multiple events in order to gain the information they need to be more productive. CCAI believes this partnership will give a much larger audience opportunities to learn about every aspect of finishing than a finishing-only event.”

More than 65 companies already plan to exhibit in the CCAI’S Finishing Technologies Pavilion. Companies interested in exhibiting in CCAI’s Finishing Technologies Pavilion can call Andy Goyer at (941) 373-1830 or send e-mail to andy@goyermgt.com.

“With CCAI’s involvement in the finishing aspect of the show and conference, FABTECH now is geared toward the entire manufacturing process stream,” says Sam Woehler of George Koch Sons. “I’m extremely excited about this year’s FABTECH as we have the potential to meet with a much wider market than most of our other recent shows have offered.”

Co-sponsored by the American Welding Society (AWS), Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Int’l (FMA), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), and Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI), FABTECH is the largest tradeshow in North America dedicated to showcasing a full spectrum of metal forming, fabricating, stamping, tube and pipe, finishing, and welding equipment and technology.  The 2010 event is expected to draw 22,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibiting companies, covering more than 350,000 net square feet of floor space.
