Of the eight sizes of Hera machines available, Helios will demonstrate the Hera 90’s ability to produce high-quality spur gears, helical gears, straight bevel gears, worms, worm gears, and other hobbed profiles with a maximum pitch rating of 8.5 DP. “The machine has made us so much more productive,” said Ivan Torres, Helios customer and vice president at Avers Machine & Gear. “There are jobs that used to take a week, and now we are knocking them out in two days or less. It’s been a game-changer for us.”
In addition to the Hera 90, Helios will also feature the high-speed shaping capabilities of the M673. With shaping speeds of up to 2,000 strokes per minute, capability to accommodate versatile shaper cutter types (disc, bell, and shank), and flexible automation system options, manufacturers can elevate their precision shaping capabilities to a new level.
Advancing gear manufacturing productivity even further is the new MSR. This rotary magazine with automatic loading offers comprehensive, versatile automation by integrating manufacturing cells with operations such as gear generation, washing, deburring, and laser marking. The MSR features stackable workpiece towers that offer more capacity than rotary conveyors and is offered with a variety of robotic loading options to feed up to 4 machine tools at a time for fully optimized gear manufacturing operations.
