Forest City Gear, an industry-leading manufacturer of fine and medium pitch custom gears, hired Chris Hart as supplier quality engineer. Some of his responsibilities in this role include conducting supplier audits and on-site visits, issuing corrective actions to suppliers, and working to improve the partnerships with all our suppliers.

“Chris was brought on board due to his extensive manufacturing and quality background,” said Amy Sovina, quality assurance manager at Forest City Gear. “He has a great mindset, not only focusing on what our suppliers can do to improve their processes, but what can FCG do to help our suppliers. I am looking forward to Chris being able to develop even better relationships with our supply base, to take the role beyond just monitoring performance and really being the primary point of contact for our service providers to whom they can reach out to whenever an issue or question arises.”

Hart comes to Forest City Gear with 18 years of quality engineering and management experience at companies such as Crown Machine, MTE Hydraulics, and Concentric Hydraulics.

“The growth opportunities at FCG bring an energy throughout the entire work force that you can feel,” said Hart. “This positive energy resonates among each department and it’s awesome to be a part of.”

Since 1955, Roscoe, Illinois, based, family-owned Forest City Gear has been one of the gear industry’s leading sources for the development, manufacture, and inspection of the highest quality gears for use in applications that range from medical devices to motorcycles, airplanes to automation, including the Mars Perseverance Rover.
