In other news, the company has announced newly expanded non-destructive testing (NDT) services at its facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bodycote operates a stand-alone, fully accredited, non-destructive testing facility at the Indianapolis heat-treat plant. Accreditations including NADCAP, AS 9000 compliance, OEM approvals, and BQS compliance allow the facility to support the automotive, aerospace, and other Bodycote facilities with NDT services.

Components of various alloys, including low carbon steel and aluminum alloys, can be inspected. Most sizes and shapes up to 2,000 pounds can be tested. Services include magnetic particle (MT), liquid penetrant (PT), radiographic (RT), and contact ultrasonic inspection. Conductivity testing and eddy-current testing (ET) are also available through limited material selection. The facility can also perform AWS certified weld inspection. "Many customers–including other Bodycote facilities–are not aware of our broad range of NDT services," says Tom Douthitt, facility manager. "In addition to on- and off-site testing, we offer complete certified training."
