This year marks the 20th anniversary of leading independent drivetrain consultancy Romax Technology. Established in 1989 by world bearing expert Dr. S.Y. Poon, MBE, Romax is a leading name in transmission consultancy. During 2009 it will be announcing a number of activities that will form its anniversary celebrations.

Romax has been providing engineering services and advanced software for drivetrains, gearboxes, and bearings to the automotive, off-highway, aerospace, and heavy industries for 20 years. The company has worked with the worlds leading automotive OEM’s and tier one suppliers to provide efficient and effective gearbox and drivetrain services to their specifications, and more recently they have been working with leading names in the wind energy industry.

The global company recently won one of Britain’s most coveted commercial awards, the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade for 2009. This is the second time the company has received this honor, which is recognized both nationally and internationally as a mark of quality and success in the fields of international trade, innovation, and sustainable development. It is yet another demonstration of how Romax is leading the field.

“I am very pleased that Romax has won such an award, especially during our 20th year. I am so proud that Romax is celebrating such a huge milestone and also at the progress we have made during these 20 years,” Poon says. “Our vision has always been to push back the frontier of engineering software technology through continuous investment, innovation, and the exceptional talents of our technical specialists and software development team, and I believe this is exactly what we have been doing and indeed what we will continue to do every day. Our innovation today is the world’s mainstream tomorrow.”
