Kinefac introduces its new Robo Roller flexible, quick changeover, automated production system for rolling threads, knurls, worms and other forms on bolts, shafts, and similar parts integrating a Fanuc robot with the new KinefacÆ MC-15 FI [CNC] Kine-Roller®. This enables the Robo-Roller user to provide automated rolling from a pallet systemóas will be shown at IMTSóbulk feed unit, hopper feed, manual load-unload station or in conveyorized system, as shown in the photo without safety guarding. It can handle parts weighing up to three lbs., provided there is some grippable feature.

The Kine-Trol computer numerical control rolling and part handling system on the Kine-Roller® provides complete operator support to simply specify the thread size, thread length, and rolling die specifications to establish the rolling cycle and the die match. Robot programs are set up using a teaching pendant and are then stored. Each die spindle has an independent servo drive system allowing numerically programmed rotational die match. The heavy-duty spindle and die actuation system has a maximum radial die load up of 70,000 pounds and can accommodate dies up to six 3/4 in. diameter and four 1/2 inch face. Depending on the application, Kinefac® provides the necessary part gripping, safety guarding, or Kine-Mat part input or output equipment the user may require. In addition, the Kine-Spin/Barrett Division of Kinefac has developed a new portable unit for effectively removing solid contaminants from coolant and lubricant fluids used in grinding, lapping, honing, wire drawing, deep drawing, and other metalworking processes which require clean fluids for effective operation. This compact portable unit applies the proven effectiveness of the Barrett Clarifuge to remove the abrasive swarf, material coating residue, tramp metal particles, and similar contaminants that are generated by the metalworking processes. The Centrifuge and the new Clari-Clean centrifuge bowl cleaner are mounted on a cart and supplied with an 8GPM circulation system. This allows the fluid cleaning operation to be brought to the machine and to operate there until the coolant or lubricant supply and the machine reservoir and sump are restored to satisfactory operating condition.

With this new system the removed contaminants are collected in a standard drum located on the cart, and therefore allows the portable fluid recovery unit to perform many machine cleaning operations before it must be returned to the location where contaminants are discarded in a hazard controlled manner. This compact unit is approximately three ft. wide and six ft. long, and is easily maneuverable in factory aisles.
