Hexagon’s 8th annual digital solutions conference wrapped with a big leap toward digital transformation. Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division announced that the HxGN LIVE conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, from June 12-15 attracted attendees and media guests from 70 countries. The Manufacturing Intelligence track hosted hundreds of manufacturing professionals taking part in subtracks: Design and Engineering, Production, and Metrology. Users of MSC Software CAE solutions, Vero Software CAD/CAM solutions and PC-DMIS metrology software attended users’ group meetings and program sessions during HxGN LIVE. Conference attendees also met with Hexagon product specialists in The Zone technology expo, showcasing the digital thread at work as a common communication framework with feedback loops embedding continuous improvement into the product lifecycle.

The Manufacturing Intelligence track presentations featured Hexagon executives and experts, customers and thought leaders including Virgin Hyperloop One, Electroimpact, WL3 Solutions, National Institute of Aviation Research (NIAR), Fullerton College, ToolingU (SME), National Composites Center, Safran Aero, and more.

At HxGN LIVE 2018, Hexagon also presented its fifth annual Shaping Smart Change Customer Recognition Program, honoring the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) for its pioneering use of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence digital solutions. Ola Rollén, President and CEO of Hexagon, presented Brian Brown, NIAR director of robotics and automation, with a Shaping Smart Change Award for critical research and innovation in the aerospace field.

Norbert Hanke, president of Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division, challenged a large audience to ’Rethink Quality’ during his keynote address. The presentation was streamed live on HxGN TV and explored key enablers of the Smart Factory, including the transformative potential of managing quality throughout the product lifecycle to drive manufacturing productivity. Hanke was joined by guest speaker Dr. Michael Grieves, executive director of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design (CAMID) at the Florida Institute of Technology, and Brian Shepherd, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s senior vice president software solutions. The inspiring keynote covered the power of smart manufacturing principles to drive smarter designs, smarter production, and smarter output. The Manufacturing Intelligence Keynote presentation can be viewed at the HxGN LIVE website.

HxGN LIVE is the leading venue for manufacturers seeking to learn more about process automation, closed-loop manufacturing, and connecting CAE, CAD, CAM and metrology technology via the digital thread. The conference stages more than 120,000 square feet of Hexagon technologies in The Zone technology expo, nearly 500 sessions, and 60-plus exhibiting sponsors.
