Fässler by Daetwyler Industries engineered a new gear honing and profile gear grinding system specifically designed for the job shop and gear laboratory environment. The HGP-400 presents a small footprint with all CNC drives with a Siemens Sinumerik 840D Solution Line Control. The ability to use a commercially available grinding wheel to profile your own custom honing stone without needing a diamond dressing gear (DDG) will shorten the tooling time from months to hours at a greatly reduced cost. The HGP can modify the tooth geometry in minutes and will ensure that prototypes, as well as small batch sizes, are produced cost effectively.
Low volume gears can be produced with all the benefits associated with honing (extremely quiet, excellent friction and wear characteristics, BIAS-free process) and being able to hone or grind both internal and external gears quickly and economically in one machine. Typical gears are either helix or spur with modules from .5 to 6.0, and diameters ranging from 20 to 320 mm, depending on the process selected.
