Tyrolit, Inc., announces that Chip Storie has been hired as president and CEO of the North American division. He was named as the new CEO on August 15th, 2008. A Cincinnati native, he was previously employed by Cincinnati Machine, where he served as vice president and general manager of its advanced systems business. In that role Storie was responsible for all aspects of operations, including global sales, engineering, operations, and business development, with full fiscal accountability. Prior to this role he was vice president of global sales for that same company.

Storie began his career with Cincinnati Milacron’s Machine Tool Group in 1988, and he held positions of progressively increased responsibility and variety, including management roles in marketing, operations, product management, product development, and sales. He obtained his MBA and bachelor’s degree in engineering from Tennessee Technological University. He has served on the board of directors for the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in Sheffield, U.K., and he is past chairman and a continued member of the Materials Processing Equipment Technical Advisory Committee (MPETAC) representing the machine tool industry for guidance on export regulations. He has also served on the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) Government Relations Committee.

In addition, William Bennett has accepted a new position with the company as the national distributor sales manager, effective September 25, 2008. He brings 29 years of abrasive experience to the role, including most recently as territory sales manager in the Midwest region. In this role he has been instrumental in the development of some of the company’s most valued distributors. Bennett will be focused on defining and developing strong, long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with Tyrolit’s key distribution partners in the U.S. He will work cooperatively with existing territory sales managers in the execution of this strategy.

The company’s focus on building sales growth through distribution goes hand in hand with its renewed emphasis on key accounts. These complimentary strategies will lay the groundwork for Tyrolit’s renewal in the marketplace.
