Schafer Gear Adds Two to Rockford Team

Schafer Gear Works has appointed Kevin Piefer as quality manager and Carl Wedig as manufacturing engineering manager. Both men will work in the Rockford production facility. One of Piefer’s primary responsibilities is the development and implementation of quality procedures to meet ISO 9001:2000 standards. Wedig will be in charge of the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for new and existing products.

A graduate of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, Piefer holds a bachelor’s degree in business management. Prior to joining Schafer Gear he was employed by Orchid Monroe, where he was quality manager. Wedig was previously with Raycar Gear and Machine, where he was plant manager.

In making the announcement Schafer Executive Vice President Stan Blenke said, “Our company is well positioned for a new wave of growth. With these appointments we now have two leaders who can help us improve our production efficiency and quality of our products, as well as help our company grow.”
