Gleason Corporation announced that it was one of only seven American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) suppliers to receive its prestigious Supplier Recognition Award at AAM’s 10th Annual Supplier Day, held June 3 at AAM’s Guanajuato Gear & Axle facility in Guanajuato, Mexico.

Gleason was recognized by AAM for its outstanding contribution as a key supplier/partner and, specifically, for its installation of PHOENIX® II 275HC Bevel Gear Cutting Machines at AAM’s various gear & axle facilities. AAM cited the 275HC for its ability to run dry, efficient chip-disposal capabilities, smaller footprint, and other long-sought ergonomic and cost-saving production efficiencies now achievable in the production of AAM’s driveline bevel ring gears and pinions. AAM management also recognized Gleason’s contribution in supporting AAM on a global basis, with its tool commodity management programs and technical support centers.
AAM has presented its Supplier Recognition Awards to exceptional suppliers annually since 1994. A team of AAM associates from procurement, engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, and materials management selected this year’s award winners based on AAM’s rating of its suppliers’ product quality, delivery, service, technology, and cost-saving performance.
