The program for the 2004 International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, to be held June 13-17 in Chicago, includes more than 225 technical presentations covering improvement and trends in metal powders, powder metallurgy (P/M) processes, and new products. Authors from 29 countries will cover developments in cemented tungsten carbides, cermets, nanomaterials, P.M ferrous alloys and stainless steel, high-temperature materials, spray processing, advanced materials, P/M/ aluminum, rapid solidification, metal injection molding, and new technologies.

Special interest programs will focus on robotics, modeling, tribilogy of P/M components, machining P/M/ parts, P/M based additive manufacturing, fuel cells, and new markets for P/M parts. A panel of industry customers will focus on the current status of their business with the P/M industry and the future. The annual State of the North American P/M industry report will cover industry statistics, business conditions, and trends.

Sponsored by the Metal Powder Industries Federation, the conference will also include a trade exhibition and award presentations in the annual P/M Design and Metallography competitions, APMI Fellow Awards, the Outstanding Technical Paper Award, and the prestigious P/M Pioneer Award.

The conference program committee is chaired by Russell A. Chernenkoff, Ford Motor Company, and W. Brian James, Hoeganaes Corporation.
