When your application requires taking accurate digital micrometer readings in the most demanding manufacturing environments, the new IP65-rated Coolant Proof Micrometer from Mitutoyo America Corporation sets a new world standard.

The new micrometer’s Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 65 means its housing is sealed dust-tight and has also passed a test wherein water jets projected against the enclosure from all directions had no harmful effects

IP65 certification means the new digital micrometer is dust proof, chip proof and coolant proof. So you can use it anywhere on the production floor and still get the accuracy expected from Mitutoyo: ± .00005"/± 1µm instrument error (for models up to 75mm/3"). The IP65 Coolant Proof Digital Micrometer features a large LCD readout that helps make it easy to read under even difficult shop lighting conditions.

Depending on model, IP65 Coolant Proof Micrometers are equipped with an SPC-output ratchet stop-, ratchet-friction thimble- or friction thimble-adjusters. Optional accessories for digital SPC-enabled models include an IP65 rated connector and cable; a DigimaticÅ gage/PC input device (USB, keyboard, and RS-232C types available); and a DigimaticÅ Mini-processor to generate on-the-spot results. If you could you benefit from faster 3D part scanning, inspection and reverse engineering processes, the Metris LC50/100Å high-speed, digitizing non-contacting probe now available from Mitutoyo America Corporation is the solution.

The LC50/100 features a standard PH-10M/PH-10Q interface to easily replace conventional mechanical touch probes and enable high speed, non-contacting scanning to 19,200 points per second. Adjustable camera and laser intensity settings guarantee quality data acquisition from different surfaces and environments.

The LC50/100 is bundled with COSMOS CMM and CADCompare software. COSMOS CMM software utilizes the part coordinate system to drive the probe to obtain pointcloud data on the finished part. Then, CADCompareÅ reads-in the pointcloud and compares it to the CAD model to provide powerful capabilities including first article inspection, tool validation, wear analysis, 3D dimensioning, automated inspection routines and reverse engineering.

CADCompare handles very large pointclouds using intelligent filters that extract the useful dataset to reduce the amount of data needed for calculation to drastically cut processing time. Various formats for CAD (STEP, IGES, VDA) are available for reading of nominal data.

The Mitutoyo Metris LC50/100 non-contacting probe plus CADCompare software can help shorten lead times and yield higher quality when used in applications such as inspection/reverse engineering of sheet metal parts, castings, turbine blades, injection molds, foams, and glass.
