The KAPP Group will highlight three machines and display a variety of CBN and DIA plated tools at this year’s IMTS show in Chicago.
The KAPP KX300P is a compact, affordable, and versatile machine occupying only 65 square feet of floor space. It has dressing for worms and form wheels, uses either CBN plated worms or form wheels, and features on-board inspection and integrated balancing. A vertically oriented workpiece allows the integration of an economical automatic loading system.
The NILES ZP12 gear profile grinding machine is ideal for finishing heavy-duty gears and pinion shafts in series production. It features a common cast-iron machine base for all machine components, two independent grinding slides with precision grinding spindles, hydrostatic guideways and rotary table, and a CNC dressing device with a high precision spindle. It also features integrated inspection and GMG (grind-measure-grind) technology.
KAPP Technologies will display a variety of CBN and DIA plated products and have a specialist available to answer questions about CBN plated form grinding wheels for discontinuous profile grinding of involute gears, rotors, and other special profiles. KAPP form grinding wheels can produce both internal and external profiles. KAPP also manufactures CBN plated cylindrical worms and diamond-plated CoroningÆ tools. The new KOEPFER KAPP KX 120 machine bridges the gap between skiving on gear hobbing machines and generating grinding on specially designed gear grinding machines. Based on the Koepfer Model 200 gear hobbing machine and equipped with a high-speed grinding spindle, the machine can be used for hard finishing of external spur and helical gears up to 120/180 mm dia. Both continuous generating grinding and single index form grinding by Kapp non-dressable tools are possible. Koepfer’s range of automation and magazine systems completes the machine.
