Gleason Unveils New Technology for Cylindrical and Bevel Gear Production at IMTS 2004

Gleason will introduce and demonstrate several new technologies at IMTS ’04 (booth #6902) designed to speed throughput and take cost out of bevel and cylindrical gear production. Significant among the new products on display will be:

  • The P 90 Horizontal Hobbing Machine, designed for dry hobbing and delivering significant improvements in performance through use of high-speed direct drive spindles for the hob and work spindles.
  • The 245TWG High Speed Threaded Wheel Grinder, with auto loading and fast cycle making finish grinding easier and more cost effective.
  • The P 600 G Profile Grinding Machine, equipped with a powerful new suite of profile grinding software that greatly reduces manual setup and other costly non-productive time.
  • The PHOENIXÆ II 275G Bevel Gear Grinding Machine, using a monolithic column design to reduce floor space requirements and improve cycle times.
  • Gleason-Mahr GMX400 Gear Inspection Machine, designed from the ground up for the elemental inspection of all types of gears.
  • The latest cutting tool technology, including new CBN plated grinding wheels and shaper cutters.
