The "Blue Typhoon" is a technologically advanced live center, designed to add speed and efficiency to workholding operations. Its exclusive quad seals are designed to prevent coolant and other foreign materials from contacting the bearings, eliminating the contamination problems experienced with ordinary centers.
The Blue Typhoon’s 12,000 RPM rating is unmatched in the industry, making it suitable for hard turning and other high-speed operations. The patent pending design includes precision ceramic bearings which run cooler at high speeds, promoting longer service life and accuracies up to +/-.00005. The bearings also enhance the center’s rigidity, minimizing deflection and chatter. The Blue Typhoon is offered in 4MT and 5MT tapers, with a choice of standard, tracer, or long points. Availability is scheduled for late 2004.
