ErgotecH, Inc., has announced the introduction of the Ergo-Tranz T2 Transporter that offers smart functionality at a breakthrough price of only $2,495. The T2 is a lightweight, maneuverable, battery-powered transporter that allows an operator–regardless of their size and strength–to move and position objects up to 220 pounds without manual lifting or body strain. It provides programmable stop points, infinitely variable speed lift, a single hand pendant control, battery-saving sleep mode, easy touch wakeup function, and many more features. ErgotecH designed the T2 from the ground up to provide a 40-percent savings over the previous model for applications such as transfer and lift of high tech equipment, boxes, production parts, or records to pick and placement of packaging rolls to portable work stations used in manufacturing.

"The Ergo-Tranz makes it easier and faster to assemble products by allowing a smaller person to move them from station to station without any difficulty," according to Chad Lane, manufacturing engineer for Hamilton Sundstrand, which uses six Ergo-Tranz transporters in its Rockford, Illinois, plant.

The Ergo-Tranz T2 provides an affordable, electrically-powered alternative that costs not much more than manual winches, hand trolleys, and stackers. The new transporter provides maneuverability in confined spaces that is far superior to a forklift at a much lower cost. For example, the device can easily pass through a 24-inch doorway. With a five-inch rear swivel and three-inch front swivel casters, it can be rolled into place and operated by a smaller, lighter person, making it possible for older, smaller employees to equal the productivity of younger, larger people. The 24-volt, 18 amp-hour sealed batteries provide industry-leading battery life. A single-column lift mast provides clear operator viewing during transport. The T2 comes standard with a fork/platform and a quick-change lift carriage accepts a variety of end effector options for handling application tasks in manufacturing, distribution, laboratories, or anywhere else that objects must be moved. Optional end effectors include a V-Block, an electric 360 degree rotating turn system, an electric mandrel, a dual arm gripper with turn and tip functions, a boom with a hook, a carousel, roller tables and more.
