The SV-1000 Vertical Honing System from St. Louis-based Sunnen Products Company delivers precision honing performance to medium- to high-volume small bore applications, 3 mm to 65 mm (.120" to 2.56").

The SV-1000 features a new tool stroking system that delivers more control and higher accuracy in bore geometry, size, and finish. Typical applications include fuel injectors, hydraulic valves and valve bodies, gears including transmission and other precision gears, fiber, connecting rods, refrigeration components, and gear hobs.

Sunnen’s new SV-1000 system stroker design delivers a consistent crosshatch pattern throughout the entire bore length. This design allows the machine to dwell in any part of the bore, end-to-end, to selectively remove stock for the straightest, most precise bore possible.

The SV-1000 incorporates a Windows-based control system with drop-down menus displayed on an easy-to-use industrial PC touch screen color display. Storage capacity for job setups is virtually unlimited. For fast and easy setups, the SV-1000 has a three-axis hand wheel control. This allows operators to quickly "fine tune" the vertical stroke position and honing tool feed position.

The SV-1000 is built to last. Long life features include a stabilizing heavy-duty cast iron column casting, vibration-resistant cast polymer composite base, cool running precision spindle bearings, and a stainless steel enclosure. The system also has a powerful re 7.5 hp (5.5kW) spindle motor.
