Toyoda Machinery is gearing up for Westec. The booth will showcase the newest machines and latest technology in grinding and horizontal machining. Products on display will include Toyoda’s GE4 and SelectG grinders and FH550S horizontal machining center.
SelectG is an economical universal grinder designed for flexible, precise, small-lot work. The machine’s wheelhead rotates from 90 to 60 degrees to accommodate either a straight or angle wheel. This feature creates easier manual changeover from straight to angle grinding wheels. Single-machine capabilities are expanded without the added investment of a full CNC-controlled wheelhead or a second dedicated grinder. In addition to simple changeover, guides ensure precise positioning.

The FH-S horizontal machining center increases throughput by pairing high spindle speeds with faster non-cutting operations, resulting in up to 30 percent faster cycle times. Its modular design allows flexible configuration in any manufacturing environment. FH-S high-gain spindle is designed for quick acceleration and deceleration, reaching full speed in 2.3 seconds. FH-S Series’ low-friction linear guides rely on roller bearings instead of traditional ball bearings. This design provides twice the rigidity and three times the vibration-dampening performance. Acceleration is 1 G (9.8 m/s2) with rapid and cutting feed rates at 60 m/minute (2,362 ipm).
