Philadelphia Gear Corporation, a full-service provider of gearing and power transmission solutions, announces the promotion of Nels Mitchel to general manager for the company’s Midwest Regional Service Center.
As GM, Mitchel oversees activities at Philadelphia Gear’s Mokena, Illinois, facility, which is located near Chicago. He is responsible for all operations within the 20,000 square-foot service facility, from sales to operations, and he has full P&L responsibility.
Mitchel brings with him over 10 years of experience in the gear industry, most recently as product manager for PGC in their marketing division, where he was responsible for marketing new product initiatives.
In addition to his marketing efforts for PGC, Mitchel was also a regional sales manager, successfully managing Philadelphia Gear’s Western Region sales team, which covered the Western U.S., Western Canada, and Asia. In 2003 Mitchel achieved increased sales of 200 percent in his U.S. territory, which consisted of Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada.

Mitchel’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A native of the Midwest, he now resides in Deerfield, Illinois, with his wife Lara and their four boys.
